California SPIA Payouts This Week: Pacific Life and American National Move Up (October 19, 2026)

California SPIA Payouts This Week: Pacific Life and American National Move Up (October 19, 2026)

October 19, 2026 · Kevin Edwards, California-licensed annuity agent (License #0D42517)

California SPIA payouts moved up a little this week at two of the four carriers I quote. Pacific Life raised its monthly income on a $100,000 single premium immediate annuity by about $16 to $18 at every age, and American National raised its payouts by about $10 to $12. Securian Financial and Symetra quoted exactly the same amounts as on October 12. Securian still has the best life-only income for a single man or woman at 65, 70 and 75, so the top quote for a 70-year-old man is unchanged at $749.67 a month.

The only change at the top of the table: for a 65-year-old couple, Pacific Life now pays the most, $568.23 a month life only (up from $550.51), just ahead of Securian Financial at $567.01. With 10 years certain, Pacific Life’s $567.57 also edges out Securian’s $566.24. Every other best payout is the same as last week.

$10,000 and $1,000,000 Quotes

This week I also ran the same scenarios at $10,000 and $1,000,000. Only Securian Financial quoted a $10,000 premium; American National, Pacific Life and Symetra did not. Securian’s $10,000 quote for a 70-year-old man is $72.34 a month, about 3.5% less than a tenth of its $100,000 quote, so small premiums buy a bit less income per dollar. All four carriers quoted $1,000,000, and the best quote for a 70-year-old man was $7,523.03 a month, about 0.4% more than ten times the $100,000 figure. See how much a $10,000 annuity pays and how much a $1,000,000 annuity pays.

Coming Up

AnnuityRateWatch shows a rate change scheduled for Protective Life on Oct 20, 2026. Protective Life isn’t one of the four carriers that quoted SPIAs for California this week, so I don’t expect it to change these tables.

These are sample quotes, and a payout rate is not an interest rate: each payment includes part of your own premium coming back to you. The full tables for ages 65, 70 and 75, for men, women and couples, are on the California SPIA rates page. If you’d like quotes for your own age and amount, request a free annuity quote.
