My Take on Oxford Life
Where Oxford Life fits: MYGA buyers with $20,000 to $100,000 who want a competitive rate without a six-figure minimum, and index annuity buyers who want a 1.00% guaranteed minimum cap. After the October 15 change, Multi-Select still pays the most in California at 4, 8 and 9 years and ties for the top 6-year rate, all from $20,000.
What to watch:
- Oxford is no longer the top MYGA at 3, 5, 7 or 10 years. At 5 and 7 years, Aspida Synergy Choice pays 6.30% and 6.35%, but needs $100,000 for those rates.
- Every Multi-Select term and every Select index annuity here carries a market value adjustment. If you withdraw more than the free amount early, the MVA can raise or lower your surrender value.
- Select 10’s 11.50% cap is the second highest 10-year cap in the October 15 data, behind Delaware Life Target Growth 10 at 12.00%. Select 3’s 9.70% is the highest of the three 3-year index annuities.
- Oxford’s outlook was negative until October 2026. It’s now stable, but check the current rating before you buy.
